RUNNAT ISAIAH 58 — My testimony

By Weng Hong

As we countdown to RUN NAT DAY , I began to reflect on how God has been guiding RUN NAT & C58 step by step thru his Holy Spirit with the major theme of ISAIAH 58. Four years ago in 2007  i was asked to share prayer points with my intercessory group in my church. I remember being so moved to share Isaiah 58 that i had not heard/forgotten my leaders instructions to talk/pray about the family. As I shared about the fasting that God wants (not mere outward religion), freeing those wrongly imprisoned, sharing food with the hungry, welcoming the poor wanderer ….  there was an awkward silence, I was soon reprimanded afterwards for not following instructions. Never before have i felt so alone, as that day, yet i still felt the Holy Spirit’s strong conviction and comforting hand to speak Isaiah 58 as I went back home, alone. He said, ‘someone else will take up the baton of Isaiah 58′.

Little did I know how prophetic Isaiah 58 was to be. The year I shared Isaiah 58 in 2007 was the year RUN NAT began in FGA. Four years later in 2011 Victor Chua was inspired by the Holy Spirit to set up RUN NAT GRACE and form C58 with the theme of Isaiah 58. Isaiah 58 has also been the major theme of  RUN NAT 2011 and the Sponsor Our Run campaign. Praying for Malaysia is really about praying  for PEOPLE especially the poor & needy who are so affected by what happens in the 8 realms/spheres. As I see and listen to the desperate cries of the poor and needy, there is an even urgent call/burden to pray for Malaysia.

Finally even in my weekly (BSF) bible study fellowship on Isaiah, it is prophetic how we finished Isaiah 58 on monday 3rd October, five days before RUN NAT DAY.  As Victor says, “There is always a flow when the spirit of God is at work thru His people. God is telling us something.” Let us always be ready to hear HIS voice, not 2nd hand or 3rd hand but direct from HIM. HE is speaking to us today, for us to do HIS WILL on earth to bring good news to the poor and needy.
