Protocol
- All donations received under the SOR Campaign will be paid to Public Bank Trustee-Coalition 58 Trust. Public Bank Trustee can only disburse the funds to three organizations and no one else. They are Malaysian Care, Harvest Centre Bhd and CCM. Each of these organizations are responsible for some of the families and communities. The money will be disbursed to these organizations according to the amounts raised by the running teams.
- Prior to distribution, C58 will present the Trust Account details and the intended disbursements to NECF and CCM for their perusal.
- Malaysian Care, Harvest Centre Bhd and CCM will use the money for the purposes it was raised for. These organizations reserve the right to work with volunteers and other organizations/churches in order to fulfill this objective.
- Once the objectives have been met, a report will be generated to confirm this and made available for viewing at the RunNat website.
- Any available surplus after meeting the financial needs of the family or community have been met, will be distributed amongst the C58 community partner members i.e. Malaysian Care, Harvest Centre Bhd, Partners in Enterprise, Hands 4Good and Sports Partnership Malaysia.
FAQ
1. How do I choose a Beneficiary to support?
A list of Families and Communities that qualify for support can be found at our RunNat website. Each case will include a description of the problem faced and the amounts of funds required to remedy or reduce the problem. There will be some Beneficiaries that have been introduced by churches. If a Beneficiary is supported by your church we would strongly encourage you to support that Beneficiary.
2. Why are some of the Beneficiaries un-named?
This is to protect their identity.
3. What if my running team raises an amount more than that required by the Beneficiary?
All surplus funds will be distributed to the other Beneficiaries. If after disbursements to all the Beneficiaries on the list, there is still a surplus, the surplus will be given to C58’s Community Partners.
4. When is the last date for raising funds?
The Trust account is open till 31st December 2011. We can receive funds till that date. However as the Run is held on 8th October, SOR is most effective till that date. Moreover C58 intends to use the funds to help the Beneficiaries between the months of September to November.
5. Can my running team choose more than one Beneficiary to support?
No. Each running team can only support one Beneficiary. However, each Beneficiary can be supported by more than one Running Team.
6. Can I change the Beneficiary after I have made the selection?
You will not be able to do this on your own. You will need to write to runnatcomm@runforthenation.com to seek permission to make the change.
7. If my donor friends feel uncomfortable about paying online, can they pay by other means?
Yes, they can make payment by cheque to Public Bank Trustee-Coalition 58 Trust and send to Run for the Nation, c/o Colossus, E-2-7 Plaza Damas, Jln Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, 50480.
8.Will donors receive an acknowledgement of their donation?
We can provide a written acknowledgement upon request. However we will not send the acknowledgement by post. Also it will not entitle the donor to tax exemption. We do not provide tax exemption.
9. Can I recommend a family or community to support?
The Beneficiaries selected for help have been introduced by our C58 members and partnering churches. We place great importance on the credibility of the source. Secondly, the Beneficiaries selected receive some form of assistance from the introducers. That relationship is important for the help to be effective. We suggest that if you know of a family that is needy, you and your running team need to be willing to provide assistance directly to the family and that you be accountable to your church for the assistance you provide. Your church will need to be informed of this arrangement.
10. Will I receive an acknowledgment for the funds raised?
Each runner that gets involved in the SOR campaign will be given a special certificate, which carries the Xtramiler name. e.g. John the Xtramiler.
