Origin of RunNat
RunNat is an abbreviation for Run For The Nation. It started off in 2007 at Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, when a group of Christians desired to see changes and transformation in the land of Malaysia. Until 2011, the Lord has spread RunNat out to many states of Malaysia. Not only that, the Lord has also brought RunNat to countries like Australia, Singapore & Cambodia.
In 2011, Sports Coalition of Singapore (SCS) saw the vision of organizing RunNat in Singapore. Together with a team of youths, RunNat Singapore was held for the first time ever in Singapore. And by the grace of God, faith in Christ and valuable advice from the Malaysia RunNat Committee, the event came as a success! The success did not come from the number of participants, but the presence of God that was with each participant throughout the run and seeing Christians from different churches in Singapore coming together to run and pray for Singapore.
It is our prayer and desire to see how God can use sports (like running) to impact the lives of the youth in this generation and drawing them closer to Him. We pray that RunNat will not just be another sports or running event, but even after the event, prayer run will be inculcated into their lifestyle.
